Verizon & Redbox to partner in movie rentals

Sometime this year Verizon and Coinstar (Redbox) will partner to offer customers additional options when they rent videos. Although details such as pricing were not provided, the partnership would allow customers to pay one fee to access movies on several platforms -- including physical and digital. The LLC (in which Verizon will own 65% and Redbox 35%), will leverage on Redbox's 35,000 kiosks and Verizon's online video-on-demand services.

Warner Bros. to stall new releases to Blockbuster

Starting tomorrow, that’s the amount of time that Warner Home Video will be delaying new releases to Blockbuster and other video stores. Home Media Magazine reports an agreement between the two sides giving Blockbuster access to new films, a full month before Redbox and Netflix, has expired.
