Rockstar’s upcoming game, Red Dead Redemption, is shaping up to be the perfect marriage of open-world GTA antics and wild west adventure. Its gorgeous, cinematic presentation and extreme ad campaign are compelling Rockstar’s GM Neil Stephen to label it their most ambitious title yet.
During a recent interview with MCV Stephen had this to say about Red Dead Redemption, “We are spending a larger proportion of our TV budget pre-launch than we ever have before to ensure Red Dead Redemption is established as a massive triple-A title. For the first time as a company, we will be running an on-screen cinema advertising campaign. We think the cinematic nature of the game makes it a perfect fit for cinema and we will be executing a nationwide ad campaign targeting the audiences of Robin Hood, Iron Man 2 and Prince of Persia”.
Grand Theft Auto 4 in the wild west — yes please! I, for one, can’t wait to get my hands on this game.
Red Dead Redemption will be released on May, 18th for the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 and has been rated M by the ESRB.
