Stephen King’s four-part miniseries The Stand (1994) about a leaked supervirus that kills most of the world’s population has been “brilliantly restored” from its original 35mm film for release on Blu-ray Disc.
The 2-time Primetime Emmy-winning series stars Gary Sinise, Molly Ringwald, Jamey Sheridan, Ruby Dee, Laura San Giacomo, and Rob Lowe, with King himself appearing in two episodes.
The Stand on Blu-ray is presented in 1080p at 1.33:1 aspect ratio. Audio is provided in English Dolby Digital 2.0. Subtitles are offered in English SDH, German, Spanish, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, and Swedish.

CBS All Access will be producing a new miniseries based on the Stephen King novel to premiere in 2020. The 10 episode series will star James Marsden, Whoopi Goldberg, and Amber Heard with an appearance by Marilyn Manson.
