We’ve got the release dates and artwork for Marvel Studios’ Captain Marvel on Blu-ray, 4k Blu-ray, and Digital!
The film will get an early digital release later this month on May 28th, followed two weeks later by Blu-ray, Ultra HD Blu-ray, and DVD on June 11th.
The artwork has also been revealed! The above box art shows the “Multi-screen Edition” with Blu-ray and Digital Copy and 2-disc “Cinematic Universe Edition” with 4k Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and Digital Copy. (Did Amazon goof on listing the “Multi-screen Edition”? The product page shows a Feb. 20 release date — that’s even before the film opened in theaters!)
Don’t forget there are also retailer exclusives of Captain Marvel including a SteelBook Edition from Best Buy and limited edition from Target with 40-page filmmaker book.
Captain Marvel is presented in 2.39:1 widescreen at 1080p (Blu-ray) and 2160p (4k Blu-ray). The Ultra HD Blu-ray edition also features High Dynamic Range color with HDR10.
The Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray differ slightly in audio options. The Blu-ray offers English DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 while the 4k Blu-ray adds more immersive sound with Dolby Atmos.
Both editions include English 2.0 Descriptive Audio, Spanish and French 5.1 Dolby Digital overdubbed tracks, and subtitles in English SDH, Spanish and French.
Bonus materials include deleted scenes, gag reel, featurettes Big Hero Moment, The Origin of Nick Fury, The Skrulls and the Kree, audio commentary and more.
