The latest film about the legend known as Robin Hood has been dated and detailed for release on Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray. This isn’t Robin Hood (2010) played by Russell Crowe, Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves starring Kevin Costner, The Adventures of Robin Hood with Errol Flynn, or any of the many preceding films or TV shows about the heroic English outlaw who stole from the rich to give to the poor.
Rather, this latest version stars Taron Egerton as Robin Hood and Jamie Foxx as Little John under the direction of Otto Bathurst (Black Mirror, Peaky Blinders). Robin Hood (2018) gets released to disc formats on Feb. 19, likely following an earlier digital release expected by Feb. 5.
Each Blu-ray edition of the movie includes the 7-part documentary “Outlaws and Auteurs: Reshaping Robin Hood,” outtakes, and deleted scenes. And, the 2-disc combo editions from Lionsgate include a second disc and digital copy.
The 4k Blu-ray disc is presented in 2160p resolution with HDR10+ and Dolby Vision (now the first disc to offer both specs) providing High Dynamic Range to improve brightness, color, saturation, and contrast in the video. A Dolby Atmos soundtrack offers an immersive audio experience, and subtitles are available in Spanish and English SDH.
Robin Hood is available to pre-order on Blu-ray Disc for $19.99 (List: $39.99) and on 4k Blu-ray for $24.99 (List: $42.99).
