We’ve finally got a confirmed release date for J.J. Abrams’ horror/war film Overlord on Blu-ray, 4k Blu-ray and DVD. The film will hit stores on Feb. 19, following an early digital release expected on Feb. 5.
The Paramount Pictures film begins on the eve of D-Day in 1944 when several American paratroopers are dropped behind enemy lines to carry out a critical mission, but they find more than just German soldiers. Julius Avery directs the film that was written by Billy Ray and Mark L. Smith. Overlord stars Jovan Adepo, Wyatt Russell, Mathilde Ollivier, and John Magaro.
On 4k Blu-ray Overlord is presented in 2160p resolution with High Dynamic Range (HDR) and a Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD 7.1 soundtrack. The Blu-ray also features immersive multi-channel Dolby Atmos/Dolby TrueHD, with video presented in 1080p resolution. Both 2-disc editions from Paramount Home Media include a second disc and digital copy.
Bonus features include the “The Horrors of War” featurettes: Creation, Death Above, Death on the Ground, Death Below, Death No More and Brothers in Arms.
Overlord on Blu-ray is list-priced $31.99 and on Ultra HD Blu-ray $34.99. The editions can be pre-ordered for $19.99 and $24.99, respectively.
