Ant-Man and the Wasp is one of those blockbuster titles that will get special limited editions when released to Blu-ray Disc on Oct. 16. The movie, starring Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly, has received great reviews from critics and fans alike with a Metascore of 70 and 88% rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Along with the standard Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray editions Marvel Studios and Disney have partnered with Best Buy, Target and Walmart to produce exclusives only available at those retailers. Here’s a look at the Blu-ray editions of Ant-Man and the Wasp sold in the US.
Common Editions
There are two common editions of Ant-Man and the Wasp including Blu-ray and Ultra HD Blu-ray. Unfortunately, there doesn’t seem to be a 3D edition planned except for maybe a Region B/2 version (not playable here in the US). The Blu-ray is branded as Disney’s Multi-Screen Edition and the 4k Blu-ray the Cinematic Universe Edition, both with an extra disc (either DVD or Blu-ray, respectively) and a Digital Copy. The discs are formatted in 1080p (Blu-ray) and 2160p/HDR (4k Blu-ray). The English audio is provided in Dolby Atmos on the 4k Blu-ray but appears will only be available in DTS-HD Master Audio on the Blu-ray. Subtitles are available in multiple languages including English SDH, French Canadian, Latin Spanish, and Brazilian Portuguese. Bonus features with the purchase of Ant-Man and the Wasp include a Director’s Intro by Peyton Reed, four making-of featurettes, gag reel, outtakes, and deleted scenes with commentary by Director Peyton Reed. Price: $24.99 (Blu-ray) $29.99 (Ultra HD Blu-ray)
Superhero Sticker Edition
This limited edition edition of Ant-Man and the Wasp available on Amazon includes a Superhero Sticker Sheet along with Blu-ray copy of the film. At the moment, this version seems a bit sketchy especially given the high price, incomplete artwork, and lack of details on the product. Will it be available only on Blu-ray and not 4k Blu-ray? And will the edition include a second disc copy (DVD or Blu-ray) and a Digital Copy? Hopefully we’ll know soon. The one good thing about this “Superhero Sticker” edition is that it’s Region Free — meaning, it can be viewed on Blu-ray players worldwide. Price: $44.99
Best Buy SteelBook
The Best Buy SteelBook limited edition of Ant-Man and the Wasp is just what it says — a collectible metal case with custom artwork and all the content provided with the common editions. This SteelBook has great artwork of The Wasp transforming size on the cover, and both Ant-Man and The Wasp on the inside (seen at top). The 2-disc edition includes an Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray and Digital Copy of the film. Sorry folks but Best Buy seems to be skipping Blu-ray/DVD/Digital SteelBook combo editions in favor of 4k Blu-ray/Blu-ray/Digital formats. Price: $34.99
Target Exclusive
The exclusive Only @ Target limited edition of Ant-Man and the Wasp looks very similar to the standard Blu-ray edition except with a honeycomb background pattern and additional characters from the movie. But more importantly for those of you who are fans of the movie this Target edition includes a 40-page Gallery Book. Like Best Buy, Target is only offering the 4k Blu-ray/Blu-ray/Digital combo of this film in what might be the new trend for retailer exclusives. Price: $32.99 [Note: As of this article pre-orders of this edition are sold out, so plan on getting to a Target store early to claim any shelf copies.]
Walmart Exclusive
Walmart has an exclusive edition listed on their website but we’re not exactly sure what it’s all about. The cover art is the same as the common editions except the header only indicates a Blu-ray (no DVD or Digital Copy) included under the slipcover. At $27, we’re hoping it includes more than just one disc! Walmart hasn’t responded to inquiries about this exclusive. Price: $27.08

Infinity War at Wal-Mart also just had the Blu-Ray disc with no digital copy or dvd. It looks like they may just be pivoting to less in the case since they know people will buy it there anyways. They usually get stripped down versions of most releases for their black friday selection, so it’s likely they’re expanding that to the rest of the year.
Is there any difference (subtitles, languages, extras) between the normal blu-ray edition and the Walmart exclusive edition or is it the exact same disc?
