Universal Pictures’ Skyscraper starring Dwayne Johnson and Neve Campbell releases to disc formats on Oct. 9, 2018. Here’s a look at all the Blu-ray versions including exclusive retailer editions upon release date.
Common Editions
The standard “common” editions of Skyscraper come on either Blu-ray, 4k Blu-ray, or 3D Blu-ray (pictured below). Each edition includes a second disc copy (either DVD or Blu-ray) and a Digital Copy redeemable with Movies Anywhere. Extras (detailed below) on the Blu-ray editions provide deleted and extended scenes, six featurettes, and feature commentary with Director Rawson Marshall Thurber.
Skyscraper is presented at 2.40:1 aspect ratio in 1080p on Blu-ray/3D Blu-ray and 2160p with HDR on Ultra HD Blu-ray. The soundtrack on all Blu-ray versions is offered in Dolby Atmos, Dolby Digital Plus 7.1, and Dolby Digital 2.0. Price: Blu-ray ($39.99), 4k Blu-ray ($44.99), or 3D Blu-ray ($44.99).
3D Blu-ray
You don’t see many movies getting 3D Blu-ray releases anymore, but Skyscraper is one film that is worth purchasing in 3D if you have a 3D-capable TV. The 3D Blu-ray edition is the same as the Blu-ray in terms of specs, bonus material, extra disc copy, and digital copy, but is selling for about $6 more ($31.99) on Amazon. List: $44.99
Best Buy 4k SteelBook Edition
How is it that Best Buy always has the best looking SteelBook covers, even when the standard package art is as good as Skyscraper? The special limited edition SteelBook from Best Buy features custom art on the outside and inside of this 4k Blu-ray edition with extra Blu-ray Disc and Digital Copy. The SteelBook is only available in the 4k Blu-ray/Blu-ray/Digital combo. Price: $34.99
Target Blu-ray Edition
The “Only at Target” exclusive limited edition of Skyscraper at Target stores comes with an additional 20 minutes of bonus content. The Target limited edition is only available in a Blu-ray/DVD/Digital combo. Price: $26.99
