Sam Raimi’s western thriller The Quick and the Dead (1995) has been remastered for release to Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc on July 17, 2018.
The 4k Blu-ray edition will present The Quick and the Dead like never before at home, with 2160p resolution (true 4k from a 35mm negative) and expanded color range with HDR10 on 4k HDR TVs that support it.
The soundtrack has also been upgraded to multi-channel Dolby Atmos that’s backward compatible with systems that support Dolby TrueHD 7.1.
The Ultra HD Blu-ray combo package of The Quick and the Dead also includes a Blu-ray and Digital Copy (likely in UHD on supporting platforms) and 7 new deleted scenes.
In the film, Sharon Stone stars as the protagonist gunslinger Ellen who looks to avenge her father’s death in the small prairie town known as “Redemption.” Raimi directs an all-star cast that includes Gene Hackman, Russell Crowe, Leonardo DiCaprio, and Gary Sinise.
The Quick and the Dead Ultra HD Blu-ray edition carries an MSRP of of $30.99 but is available to pre-order from Amazon and Best Buy for $22.99 (see below for updated Amazon pricing).
