New Blu-ray This Week: Tomb Raider, I Can Only Imagine, Love, Simon & more

new-blu-ray-june-12-2018-960x600This week is a particularly big week for new 4k Blu-ray releases with 9 new titles that we know of hitting shelves. As well as previously-released titles, there are several new movies and TV series that have not been released to any disc formats yet.

On 4k Blu-ray we suggest checking out Forrest Gump with an upgraded 4k/HDR image and new Dolby Atmos soundtrack; Warner Bros.’ Tomb Raider starring Alicia Vikander featuring the highly-desired Dolby combo with Dolby Vision (HDR) and a Dolby Amos soundtrack; Terminator Genisys with a 2160p presentation and HDR color enhancements; and, the 2-time Oscar-winner film Darkest Hour gets a 4k Blu-ray upgrade several months after its initial Blu-ray release.

On standard Blu-ray popular titles of the week include Tomb Raider (although you might consider the 4k Blu-ray edition unless, for some reason you need a DVD copy); the comedy/drama Love, Simon from Fox 2000 Pictures; Roadside Attractions’s drama I Can Only Imagine starring J. Michael Finley, Madeline Carroll, and Dennis Quaid; and Season 5 of Netflix’s Orange is the New Black.

From the archives you might check out Gross Anatomy (1989), Jack the Giant Killer (1962), Warner’s Designing Woman (1957), and two classic Eddie Murphy films Trading Places (1983) and Coming to America (1988).
