Vudu was one of the first digital video services in the US to offer movies in 4k UHD, but for the longest time you couldn’t get a title for less than $29.99. Now, ever since Apple stepped into the frame with 4k movies the same price as HD (typically $19.99), Google Play, Fandango and others had to drop their prices as well. As a result you can get many movies in Digital UHD for under $20. But if you’re just starting out and want to see what all the buzz is about, here are some 4k movies under $15, some with both Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos for expanded color depth and advanced surround sound audio.
Digital 4k UHD movies under $15
The Dark Tower
Vudu has Sony Pictures’ recent release The Dark Tower priced only $12.99 in Digital UHD, featuring Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. To compare, Apple iTunes has the Digital 4k version for $12.99 and Google Play has it for $19.99.
Atomic Blonde
The action film Atomic Blonde starring Charlize Theron from Universal is $14.99 (UHD) on Vudu and features HDR via Dolby Vision. To compare, Apple iTunes also sells the 4k version for $14.99 while Google Play has it priced at $29.99.
Annabelle: Creation
This horror film from Warner Bros. is only $14.99 (UHD) from Vudu and includes Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos audio. To compare, Apple iTunes also sells it for $14.99 while Google Play is asking $29.99 for the title in Digital UHD.
Harry Potter franchise films
The Harry Potter movies are only $14.99 each in Digital UHD from Vudu, including first film in the franchise Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. The Warner Bros. movies are also $14.99 in 4k UHD on iTunes, but on Google Play the titles are $29.99 each in 4k.
Lucy
Scarlett Johansson and Morgan Freeman star in this sci-fi action film that’s moderately priced at $14.99 in Digital UHD from Vudu and features Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos. To compare, iTunes has the 4k version for $14.99 and Google sells it for $24.99.
Everest
This epic adventure sells for $13.99 (UHD) from Vudu and features Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos immersive audio. The title sells for $14.99 in Digital 4k from iTunes and $24.99 in 4k from Google Play.
