The Dark Tower, Kidnap, & other new Blu-ray releases this week

new-blu-ray-oct-31-2017-900x600It’s Halloween and most folks are probably thinking more about their costumes and trick-or-treating rather than what’s new on Blu-ray today. But nevertheless there are some fresh titles you might want to consider. At the top of new releases is The Dark Tower from Sony Pictures. The film, based on the Stephen King novels, is available on Blu-ray, 4k Blu-ray, and DVD, as well as exclusive Steelbook editions from Best Buy.

For Halloween there are quite a few horror films you might want to pick up including special collector’s editions of Slaughter High (1986), Dawn Of The Dead (2004), Land Of The Dead (2005), as well as new Blu-ray releases of Down “The Shaft” (2001), The Devil’s Rain (1975), and Vampire’s Ghost (1945).

In anime and animation there are several new titles worth considering such as Season One of The Testament of Sister New Devil, the complete series of Fist of the North Star, Nausicaä of the Valley of the Wind (1984) from director Hayao Miyazaki, and Castle in the Sky with voiceover acting from Anna Paquin, James Van Der Beek, Cloris Leachman, and Mark Hamill.

Most Blu-ray editions cost somewhere between $11.99 and $21.99, while 4k Blu-ray discs range between $19.99 and $29.99. Check the Amazon carousel below for updated pricing.
