DirecTV is broadcasting parts of the 2017 PGA Championship from Charlotte, North Carolina in 4k Ultra HD. The AT&T-owned satellite TV company is featuring holes 16, 17 and 18 in Ultra HD on Channel 106, available to subscribers with the advanced service.
To get 4k video, customers must have a Genie HD DVR (Model HR54 or above), as well as a DIRECTV 4K Ready TV or a compatible 4K TV connected to the latest 4K Genie Mini. The service must be set up by a professional installer.
DirecTV has two other channels that broadcast in 4k: Channel 104 and Channel 105. Those channels are full time 4k, while Channel 106 offers events such as the Masters and Pay-Per-View programs.
