Paramount’s Ghost in the Shell (2017) has been released early to digital formats, two-and-a-half weeks ahead of the Blu-ray, 3D Blu-ray, and 4k Blu-ray editions hit shelves. The digital version of the film can be purchased in Digital HD or SD from most vendors, and Vudu is has the film in 4k UHD with Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.
Price
From most popular video services Ghost in the Shell is $14.99 (SD) or $19.99 (HD), while the 4k UHD version from Vudu is priced $29.99. The most expensive place to buy the movie is from CinemaNow where it costs $17.99 (SD) and $24 (HD). Verizon is also a bit more expensive than the norm at $21.99 for either format.
Bonus Material
As far as special features, iTunes Extras includes over an hour of bonus material with behind-the-scenes footage, special effects, and other featurettes as well as iTunes exclusive photo galleries.
Vudu Extras includes the featurettes “Hard-Wired Humanity: Making Ghost in the Shell” and “Inside the Shell.” Sony has both those featurettes plus “Man & Machine: The Ghost Philosophy,” and “Section 9: Cyber Defenders.”
Microsoft Video only includes a 1-minute featurette “Creating the Shell.”
4k UHD
