HBO has released the second official full-length trailer for Game of Thrones Season 7. It opens with Sansa Stark slowly walking towards the camera and ends with her narration, a clear indication that she will be a pivotal figure in the upcoming season and imminent battles ahead.
If you remember where Season 6 left off (warning, spoilers), Cersei took charge of King’s Landing to the demise of likable characters Margaery and Loras Tyrell; Daenerys takes her army upon the ocean with dragons in tow; Bran Stark sees his father’s past through the three-eyed raven; and, Jon Snow gets the support he needs from the houses of the North.
War, not just winter, will be upon this season. Will Cersei finally get what she deserves? What role will the ironborn Greyjoys play? And, will creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have enough guts and circularity to kill John Snow again? It sure feels like it.
The second trailer is loaded with striking imagery and detailed character shots. Without dissecting the new footage as other publications have already done, here’s the trailer direct from YouTube for you to take it apart yourself.
Game of Thrones Season 7 premieres on July 16 with the 59-minute Episode #7.1.
