If you haven’t heard of The Lost City of Z, it centers on British explorer Colonel Percival Fawcett who disappeared in the 1920s while searching for a mystical city in the Amazon jungle. Produced by Amazon Studios, the feature film was directed by James Gray based on the book by David Grann.
Charlie Hunnam (King Arthur: Legend of the Sword) stars as Fawcett, along with Twilight sensation Robert Pattinson and Golden Globe-nominated Sienna Miller.
The Lost City of Z hits stores on Blu-ray Disc July 11, 2017 in a combo pack from Broad Green Pictures that includes Blu-ray and DVD copies. We’re not sure if the release will include a code to redeem a Digital HD copy.
Pre-orders of the Blu-ray are priced at $16.99 (List: $34.99), while the DVD costs $12.99 (List: $26.99). Amazon is selling pre-orders of the film in Digital HD for $19.99 (more than the Blu-ray), which may be why the Blu-ray combo may not have a digital copy.
We’ll keep you posted on any further details we receive.
Update: The Lost City of Z will release in a 4k Ultra HD Blu-ray edition on Sept. 19, 2023.
