Here’s what’s new on Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray this week.
In movies, 3-time Oscar-nominated Hidden Figures hits stores on Blu-ray, Ultra HD Blu-ray, and DVD this week. Along with a Digital HD copy, bonus features include the multi-layered featurette “It All Adds Up – The Making of Hidden Figures,” production diary “Hidden Figures: Filming in Georgia,” gallery, deleted scenes, and audio commentary from Theodore Melfi and Taraji P. Henson.
6-time Oscar-nominated drama Lion is also getting released to disc formats including Blu-ray and DVD (there’s no 4k release we’re aware of). The Blu-ray edition, unfortunately, doesn’t come with a DVD copy but does come with a code to redeem an UltraViolet digital copy.
Other films hitting Blu-ray this week include Brimstone, Phantasm Special Edition Boxset, Monster Trucks (Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray), The Bye Bye Man, Never Too Young to Die, Toni Erdmann, 36 Hours (1964), The Umbrellas of Cherbourg (1964), War On Everyone, Ludwig (1973), and House: Two Stories (1986) among about 30 titles.
From television, HBO’s Veep: The Complete Fifth Season and Silicon Valley: The Complete Third Season both hit stores on Blu-ray and DVD. Along with all episodes from each of the series’ 2016 season, the Blu-ray editions include Digital HD copies that can be streamed or downloaded from iTunes, Google Play, and UltraViolet partners.
