Here’s What’s New On Blu-ray This Week

new-blu-ray-mar-28-2017-900x600Here’s what’s new on Blu-ray Disc this week! Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them is one of this week’s top Blu-ray releases, hitting stores on Blu-ray, 4k Blu-ray, and 3D Blu-ray. The Blu-ray editions are loaded with extras including several featurettes, character and creature profiles, making of production videos, and 11 deleted scenes.

Planet Earth II is certainly one of the most anticipated Blu-ray releases of the year for home theater enthusiasts, filmmakers, and anyone else who appreciates amazing camerawork. The 6-episode documentary series from BBC has already aired on television in both 1080p and 4k, but now anyone can own the follow up to one of the most stunning documentary series so far this century.

Lionsgate’s Patriot’s Day is available on Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray in combo editions that also include Digital HD copies. Extra content with the purchase of Patriots Day on Blu-ray, 4k Blu-ray and Digital HD includes eight featurettes such as “Boston Strong: True Stories of Courage,” and “The Cast Remembers.”

And, one should pay tribute to the classic film Blow Up from Michelangelo Antonioni that served to influence so many filmmakers that followed. Criterion Collection has digitally remastered the 1966 title from a 4K digital transfer and coupled it with an uncompressed monaural soundtrack for this Blu-ray release. The edition comes with plenty of supplemental material such as a new 52-minute documentary on the making of the film and archival interviews with Antonioni and actors David Hemmings and Jane Birkin.
