The 2016 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs begin tonight, Monday 30th at 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time on NBC with the Western Conference champion San Jose Sharks visiting the Eastern Conference champion Pittsburgh Penguins. This is the 123rd year of the Stanley Cup’s presentation, and the first appearance for the Sharks during their 25-year history.
On traditional broadcast TV the playoffs can be watched on either NBC or NBCSN, and live-streaming over-the-internet is available with NBC Sports Live Extra on PCs or through the NBC Sports Live Extra app for Android, iOS and Windows devices. The last two minutes of each period can also be watched on Official NHL App (NHL Premium or NHL.TV subscriber only) although local blackouts may apply.
It’s a bit unclear which games will be broadcast in the U.S. on NBC and which on NBC Sports Network, so be sure to check your guide before watching or recording the games. In Canada, the games are broadcast on CBC and TVAS. Here’s a schedule of the 2016 NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs with broadcast and live-streaming info.
