The 2016 Oscars aired last Sunday evening, and it’s no surprise several of the films that were either nominated or won an award have been released two days later to Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand. Let’s take a look at our highlights for the week, along with some other notable titles below.
Creed is now available on Blu-ray, DVD, and On Demand following Sylvester Stallone being nominated for “Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.” The Blu-ray release comes with a couple extra featurettes and deleted scenes, and a Digital HD copy with UltraViolet. Price: $22.99
4-time Oscar-nominated film Room won Brie Larson “Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role” for her role as Ma. The Blu-ray edition from Lionsgate also comes several featurettes and audio commentary, as well as a Digital HD copy via UltraViolet. Price: $16.99
The Danish Girl is another film with 4 Oscar nominations and one win. Alicia Vikander took home the award for “Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role” for her role as Gerda Wegener. The single-disc edition from Universal Studios includes one bonus: “The Making of The Danish Girl”; and a Digital HD copy redeemable with UltraViolet or iTunes. Price: $22.99
