mad-dogs-episode-1-still3Amazon has announced a new original series that will debut for Prime members on January 22nd in the U.S., UK, Germany and Austria. Titled Mad Dogs, the series is an hour-long dark comedy based on the UK television series of the same name. The first episode is already available to view on Amazon Prime Video, and is rated TV-MA for mature audiences.

Mad Dogs stars Steve Zahn (Dallas Buyers Club) as Cobi, Michael Imperioli (The Sopranos) as Lex, Billy Zane (Titanic) as Milo, Romany Malco (Weeds) as Gus, and Ben Chaplin (The Thin Red Line) as Joel. The series comes from producer Chris Cole who wrote and created the UK series than ran for two years and fourteen episodes.

Amazon Prime members will be able to stream the entire ten episodes of Mad Dogs in SD, HD, and 4k UHD resolution on supporting connected Ultra HD TVs with the Amazon Video app or through the 2nd-generation Amazon Fire TV media player.

“I loved working on a comedic, albeit dark, story like Mad Dogs and know that the performances by Steve, Michael, Romany and Ben will resonate with all who have had longtime friendships that evolve and change as the years go on,” said Executive Producer Shawn Ryan.
