It’s a not a blockbuster week for new Blu-ray Disc releases by any means, but let’s take a look at a few titles that may peak your interest. Wild Horses is a crime/drama from Entertainment One that features an all-star cast that includes James Franco (127 Hours), Josh Hartnett (Black Hawk Down), and Oscar-winner Robert Duvall. Duvall also co-wrote and directed the film that had limited theatrical showings. Unfortunately, the 1-Disc Blu-ray edition doesn’t include a digital copy.
Scooby-Doo is fun for any age, and this week even KISS fans may want to jump into the Mystery Machine. The 2-Disc edition Scooby-Doo! & KISS: Rock & Roll Mystery from Turner Home Entertainment includes a Blu-ray Disc, DVD, and Digital HD copy with UltraViolet.
The 1967 thriller House of 1,000 Dolls (original title “La casa de las mil muñecas”) starring Vincent Price is now available in high-definition Blu-ray Disc. While The Chicago Tribune called the film “not even bad enough to be good…”, fans of Vincent Price and what could be called the “sleazy” genre of movies may want to check this one out. No digital copy or DVD is included.
