Netflix announced today renewal of the original series Orange is the New Black for a fourth season. While Season 3 has not yet been released (hitting Netflix streaming servers on June 12th), a fourth season will take the popular show into 2016. Like previous seasons, Season 4 of Orange is the New Black will most likely consist of at least thirteen 55-minute episodes, rated TV-MA for Mature Audiences.
Orange is the New Black launched its first season in 2013 with 13 episodes. The show was created by Jenji Kohan, and stars Taylor Schilling, Danielle Brooks and Taryn Manning. Orange is the New Black has won 3 Emmys so far, and has been nominated for 4 Golden Globe awards.
In other Netflix news the company just launched thirteen episodes Marvel’s Daredevil, a collaboration between ABC, Disney, and Marvel. The streaming service also announced a fourth season of House of Cards, as well as a second season of Bloodline.
