Dell has announced a new option for the Precision M3800 Mobile Workstation that’ll put a new 15.6″ 4k Ultra HD touch display at your fingertips. The 4k LED-backlit display features over 8 million pixels at 3840 x 2160 resolution, with a durable Corning Gorilla NBT glass screen, and ten-finger multi-touch functions enabled by .
Dell calls the M3800 “the world’s thinnest and lightest true 15-inch mobile workstation” with a form factor less than 0.71-inches (18mm) thick and weighing just 4.15lbs.
The M3800 houses a 4th-generation Intel Core i7 quad-core processor (4712HQ), professional grade NVIDIA Quadro K1100M graphics card (2GB GDDR5 dedicated memory), up to 2TB Solid State (SSD) storage, and up to 16GB of RAM capacity.
To support editing and viewing 4k material, the M3800 utilizes an Intel Thunderbolt 2 port with transfer speeds up to 20Gbps.
The Mobile Workstation, starting at $2,179 from Dell, is available with Windows 8.1 Professional, Windows 7 Professional, or a developer edition with Linux Ubuntu 14.04 LTS.
