Here’s some great news for FiOS TV customers. Verizon has added twenty four channels from Viacom that are available out-of-home through the FiOS TV Mobile app. The additions will let Android and iOS users stream shows such as “Punk’d” and “South Park” anywhere there’s internet access on smartphones and tablets. Popular networks in the deal include BET HD, Comedy Central HD, Spike HD, and channels falling under the MTV, VH1, and Nickelodeon brands.
The Verizon app also lets customers manage DVR recordings, view show and movie guides, and access the FiOS On Demand library.
Verizon added quite a few live channels to the FiOS TV app last fall, with about a dozen of them available out-of-home including Flix, Showtime Family Zone, and STARZ Comedy HD.
Today’s additions bring the total number of live channels available out-of-home on the FiOS Mobile app to eighty eight.
