Amazon is running a special promotion for new Prime members today and with that streaming all episodes of the Golden Globe-winning original series Transparent. Viewers don’t need to sign-up for Prime to see the episodes, but must be Amazon customers. The series stars Jeffrey Tambor (The Larry Sanders Show), Judith Light (Dallas), and Gaby Hoffmann (Girls), and was recently greenlit for a second season on the Amazon Instant Video platform.
Amazon also recently launched its 2015 pilot season, where viewers can help decide which pilots get approved for a full season. One pilot receiving attention is “The Man in the High Castle” from Executive Producer Ridley Scott (Blade Runner). Based on Philip K. Dick’s award-winning novel of the same name, the pilot explores an alternate history in which the United States and its allies lost World War II.
For today only, Amazon is offering a one-year subscription to Prime for $72, the service that normally costs $99 per year and offers free two-day shipping on most items, unlimited streaming on Amazon Prime, and Kindle Owner’s Lending Library among other services.
