If you want to check out Panasonic’s latest in 4k upscaling technology, the company is displaying a new Smart Network Blu-ray Disc player at CES 2015. The DMP-BDT270 (pricing to be revealed later), upscales Full HD (1080p) content by adding millions of pixels to video images from Blu-ray Discs for display on Ultra HD TVs. The player (pictured above) also supports 3D playback of Full HD video.
The BDT270 also includes a Web Browser (Flash not supported) and DLNA for viewing and sharing photos, videos and music on a home network. Additional features include Miracast (for viewing media on a TV from a smartphone), Internet Apps platform, and HDMI CEC for compatibility with Panasonic VIERA TVs and remote controls.
Panasonic also has a second Smart Network BD Player on display at CES. The DMP-BD93 (pictured below) doesn’t include the 4k upscaling technology, DLNA, or Web Browser but does integrate Miracast, Internet Apps, and HDMI CEC. (Pictured below.)
