Roku has recently updated its lineup with several new choices, surpassing a milestone of over 2,000 channels offered on the streaming platform. Among the newest additions are the popular app channels FXNow, MLG.tv, Nat Geo TV, and SundanceNow Doc Club, as well as HBOGo and Showtime Anytime (now authenticating Comcast Xfinity customers). Other added channels include Extreme Sports, Film Festival Favorites, and the video distribution platform VHX.
The Roku team has also added the Roku Recommends channel providing users with updates and recommendations for streaming channels, movies, TV shows, and games, as well as tips for using the Roku player and software.
Roku also updated their search tool to include results from 15 top streaming channels. Now, after doing a search for channel, movie, TV show, actor, or other search query, you’ll see results from FOX NOW, CinemaNow, FXNOW, Netflix, Hulu Plus, Amazon Instant Video, HBO GO, Crackle, Vudu, M-GO, Time Warner Cable, Popcornflix, Blockbuster On Demand, Snagfilms and Acorn TV.
