Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has released the documentary film I Am Ali to Digital HD format, four weeks ahead of packaged disc formats. The film can be purchased or rented in HD quality from digital vendors such as Amazon Instant Video, Google Play, and the iTunes Store. Rental price on average is $6.99, while the purchase price is $14.99 from Amazon & Google Play, and $19.99 from iTunes.
I Am Ali, directed by Clare Lewins, gives viewers a fresh look at the life of Muhammad Ali told through his personal audio journals and through those who surrounded him. The film includes interviews with well-known athletes such Jim Brown, Mike Tyson, George Foreman, as well as Ali’s close friend and business manager, Gene Kilroy.
The film is being shown in limited theaters this month in both the US and Germany, and will be distributed to select locations in Ireland and the UK next month.
I Am Ali will hit stores on Blu-ray Disc and DVD on November 11th, 2014. The Blu-ray combo will include a Digital HD copy via UltraViolet, as well as bonus content and additional interviews.
On Blu-ray I Am Ali is presented in 1080p with 1.78:1 widescreen aspect ratio and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and Dolby Digital 2.0 soundtrack. The DVD version of the film is formatted in Anamorphic 1.78:1 widescreen aspect ratio with audio in English Dolby Digital 5.1 and Dolby Digital 2.0.
