Lionsgate has released the film Divergent to Blu-ray Disc, and along with the usual 1-Disc DVD and 2-Disc Blu-ray versions retailers are selling exclusive editions with variations in packaging, content and bonus items. Best Buy, Target and Walmart all have their own exclusive editions, with Target and Walmart offering the most for your buck. Oddly enough, Amazon does not have an exclusive release for Divergent. All the exclusives also contain a Digital HD copy redeemable through UltraViolet or iTunes. Let’s take a look at the exclusives.
Best Buy
Best Buy has Divergent in exclusive “collectible” Steelbook packaging that includes a Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD copy via UltraViolet. The edition carries an MSRP of $29.99 and is on sale for $19.99. The Steelbook edition is priced exactly the same as the common 2-Disc Blu-ray combo, so why not grab the more unique package?
Target
Target’s exclusive Divergent release includes a 50″x60″ fleece blanket, as well as exclusive packaging for the edition that includes a Blu-ray, DVD, and Bonus Disc (DVD) with an additional 45-minutes of exclusive content with cast interviews, an inside look at the costumes, and featurette about the film’s music score. Unfortunately, the fleece blank exclusive is only offered online. List-priced at $29.99, the edition is currently on sale for $19.99.
Walmart
Walmart’s Divergent exclusive contains an extra 60 extra minutes of content, booklet (digibook), and the first 20 pages of the new e-book “Four.” The exclusive includes a Blu-ray Disc, DVD, and Digital HD copy via UltraViolet. The edition is list-priced at $39.99, but is currently on sale for $21.96.
