We recently provided a price comparison of the digital release of Divergent that was available two week prior to today’s Blu-ray and DVD releases. Now, we’ll take a look at where to buy the Blu-ray Disc and DVD based on price. Lionsgate also partnered with Best Buy, Target, and Walmart to release exclusive Divergent editions, which are also included in the price comparison below. Divergent stars Shailene Woodley in the futuristic sci-fi/drama where society is separated into five factions based on virtues. The film is based on the novel by Veronica Roth.
The common 2-Disc Blu-ray edition of Divergent packs a DVD copy along with extra bonus content including the documentary “Bringing Divergent to Life,” featuette “Faction Before Blood,” audio commentaries, and deleted scenes. Also on the Blu-ray edition, audio is provided in English DTS-HD Master Audio 7.1 surround sound.
What’s nice about the release of Divergent to disc formats is that this time all editions include a Digital copy, even the DVD edition (although the Digital copy is SD quality). Let’s compare some prices!
