Cox Doubles Internet Speed in 6 Markets

Cox Communications has announced 6 markets will receive upgrades this month that effectively double the internet speed of the Preferred and Premiere service packages. Those markets getting the upgrade include: Arizona; Arkansas; Kansas; Las Vegas; Omaha, Nebraska; and Sun Valley, Idaho. The improvements will take the download speed of the Preferred from 25Mbps to 50Mbps, while the Premiere speed will jump from 50Mbps to 100Mbps. The internet upgrades come at no additional charge to customers, and, from what we can gather no hardware exchanges or upgrades will be required. According to Cox, over 70-percent of the company’s high-speed internet customers subscribe to either of those packages. Cox says all markets will receive the upgrade by the end of the year. For details on exactly when your service will be upgraded contact your local Cox office.
