Sony Pictures Entertainment has released a new trailer that anticipates the 30th Anniversary of the classic sci-fi/comedy film Ghostbusters. The anniversary will be commemorated by a re-release of the film to select theaters on August 29 for Labor Day weekend, and, Ghostbusters & Ghostbusters 2 anniversary editions coming to Blu-ray Disc on September 16, 2014.
For the re-release, Sony has fully restored both Ghostbusters films in 4k resolution. The original film will be shown in approximately 700 theaters across the U.S. and Canada for one week only.
Using the newly restored 4k film as source material, Sony will also release single Blu-ray editions of each film, as well as a 2-Disc Blu-ray Digibook edition. Bonus materials on the editions include never-before-scene special features, deleted scenes, production notes, character sketches, and insider info.
Sony will also release a Ghostbusters/Ghostbusters II Limited Edition Gift Set that comes with a Digibook and Slimer figurine.
