Bates Motel: Season 2 Blu-ray & Digital release date announced

Universal Studios Home Entertainment has announced the release date for Bates Motel: Season Two will be Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Along with a standard DVD edition, Universal will bow a 2-Disc combo with Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD copy though UltraViolet license code. Bonus features on the Blu-ray and DVD editions include deleted scenes, the featurette “Origins of a Psycho: Inside Bates Motel,” “After Hours- Season Two Premiere,” and “After Hours- Season Two Finale.” The Blu-ray is formatted in 1.78:1 widescreen aspect ratio with DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 soundtrack, while the DVD is formatted is 1.78:1 anamorphic widescreen with Dolby Digital 5.1. Bates Motel stars Academy Award-nominated Vera Farmiga (Up in the Air) and Freddie Highmore (Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and  is a contemporary take on the 1960 film Psycho that centers on the life of fictional murderer Norman Bates. The 2-Disc set carries an MSRP of $49.99 and packs 428 minutes of content.
