DirecTV has announced the DirecTV Fantasy Zone channel that’ll be available this coming season exclusively to NFL Sunday Ticket Max subscribers at no extra charge for the first year. The live fantasy football show will bring DirecTV fantasy football features to a dedicated linear channel, with content such as real-time stats, highlights, projections and key player updates powered by the NFL.com Fantasy website.
NBC Sports and Rotoworld analyst Kay Adams will host Fantasy Zone along with former NFL linebacker Dhani Jones. The show will feature weekly A-list celebrity guest hosts within a “Fan Cave” environment for the live studio audience. Broadcast from a studio loft in New York City, the audience will also be treated to “gourmet game-day fare” prepared by the studio’s in-house chef.
DirecTV Fantasy Zone will be found right next to Red Zone on DirecTV channel 704. According to the press release, the channel will be available on Sunday afternoons during the regular NFL season. However, one might wonder why the channel would not be available during off-game hours as well.
The announcement didn’t indicate whether or not the channel would be available in HD. However, with all the stats and on-screen tickers we would hope it would be available in high definition.
