WatchESPN app now supports Chromecast and Apple iOS 7.0

WatchESPN app programming screenThe latest update to the WatchESPN app now supports Google Chromecast, as well as fixes bugs and optimizes some features. In addition, the app now supports iOS 7.0 and higher on Apple iPads, iPhones and iPod touch devices. The WatchESPN app lets users view live games, sports shows, news, highlights, and on-demand clips from ESPN networks including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN3, ESPNU, ESPNews and ESPN Deportes.

Updates to both the Android and iOS apps were uploaded to servers on June 3, 2014. The WatchESPN app for Apple devices (Version 1.8.0) is a 13.4MB file and requires iOS 7.0 or higher. The app for Android (Version 2.2.0) is a 9.2MB file and requires Android 2.3.3 or higher.

Access to WatchESPN live programming may be determined by your TV or internet service provider. The providers below currently offer access to WatchESPN live streaming video:

  • Cox
  • DISH
  • Google Fiber
  • Midcontinent Communications
  • Optimum

(Take note Cablevision and DirecTV are not among the supporting providers.)
