Starting Thursday, May 1, DirecTV will offer subscribers a free trial of the HD Extra Pack. The optional channel package adds nine high-definition (HD) channels to your DIRECTV lineup, including the movie channels MGM HD, Hallmark Movie Channel HD, HDNet Movies, Sony Movie Channel HD, and Universal HD. Crime and Investigation, ShortsHD, Smithsonian Channel HD are also part of the HD Extra Pack, as well as the Viacom-owned music channel Palladia that broadcasts music videos, concerts and other music-related programming.
DirecTV’s HD Extra Pack normally costs $4.99 per month on top of your selected TV service package. DirecTV is currently offering 3 months free when you activate HD Extra Pack on your service.
