Has your favorite movie of the year been nominated for an Oscar this year? A total of nine films will compete for the Best Picture award, the most since the 2010 nominees presented at the 83rd Academy Awards. The 86th 2014 Oscars will be broadcast on ABC Sunday, March 2 starting at 7 p.m. Eastern/4 p.m. Pacific Time. This year’s host will be Ellen DeGeneres, her second time hosting the awards ceremony.
Academy President Cheryl Boone Isaacs and actor Chris Hemsworth announced this year’s Oscar nominations last Thursday, January 16th from the Academy’s Samuel Goldwyn Theater in Beverly Hills, California.
