Yesterday, Roku announced a new partnership with the pay-as-you-go video service M-Go. The M-Go app comes pre-loaded with Roku’s new LT, 1, and 2 models. And, the app will roll-out in October in a free software update for other models including Roku LT (models 2400 and 2450), Roku HD (model 2500), Roku 2 HD, Roku 2 XD, Roku 2 XS, Roku 3, and the Roku Streaming Stick.
An M-Go button will also be available on the remote control of the new Roku LT (model 2700), Roku 1 and Roku 2 models.
Popular movies and TV shows available through M-Go include Hangover 3, The Croods, Breaking Bad, and Modern Family. The service also offers a catalog of archive films and TV shows for rent or purchase.
What’s interesting (and convenient) about the M-Go partnership is that billing is integrated with Roku. So, you won’t have to set up a separate credit card account with M-Go.
“M-GO on Roku provides that ultimate streamlined experience through frictionless discovery and checkout,” said John Batter, CEO of M-GO.
Roku’s newly announced product line is an attempt to give customers and easier way to decide which models to consider. The former LT, 2HXD, and HD models have been condensed into the 1 and 2 models. The company’s flagship model, the Roku 3, stays the same.
