Starting next Thursday, Oct. 3, DirecTV will offer a preview of the HD Extra Pack, the add-on selection of nine high-definition channels that regularly costs $4.99 per month on top of your existing service package. Networks include Hallmark Movie Channel, HDNet Movies, MGM HD, Sony Movie Channel, Universal, Smithsonian, Crime and Investigation, Palladia, and and ShortsHD. The preview of HD Extra Pack will run for one week, ending on Oct. 10. Of course, you’ll need to have DirecTV HD service in order to view the hi-def channels.
