Trivia Time! Have there been more Halloween sequels or home video versions of the 1978 slasher classic? OK, so that wasn’t so much trivia as a rhetorical question, because honestly, finding out that answer would take a few hours of research. What we do know however is that John Carpenter’s budget horror film that became an icon is getting another Blu-ray treatment just in time for the spookiest holiday of the year. Starz/Anchor Bay will release Halloween: 35th Anniversary Edition (pre-order at Amazon for $31.48) on September 24.
What’s new this time? A 1080p transfer personally supervised by Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Dean Cundey, Dolby TrueHD 7.1 soundtrack, and a new high def featurette with Jamie Lee Curtis.
Halloween tells the story of “the night HE came home.” He, of course, is Michael Myers–a psychopath institutionalized since childhood for the murder of his sister who then escapes his confines and unleashes terror on an Illinois town. Watch this one with a friend.
