LG showed off their premium 100-inch (254 cm) Laser Display today in Dubai. Previously unveiled at CES 2013, the projector/display combo delivers a 1,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio with 150 nit brightness. And, the projector unit can be placed as close as 22 inches (56 cm) away from the anti-reflective LG CINEMA SCREEN. The UST (Ultra Short Throw) projection unit boasts 25,000 hours of life (about 5 times longer than standard projector lamps without the use of mercury), ATSC tuner, 20W stereo speaker system (two 10W speakers), Smart TV and Digital TV capabilities, built-in WiFi, 3 HDMI, 2 USB, optical audio output, and RS-232 interface. The LG display, dubbed “Hecto” here in the U.S., starting shipping in March and carries an MSRP of $8,999.
