A video that popped up last night on YouTube claims to show the next-gen PlayStation 4. The teaser ad, which looks fairly professional albeit a bit strange for Sony, shows what could be the design of the PS4. With a glowing line wrapping around the edge of the console, and large PS4 logo on the top, the design looks pretty darn slick. But a Sony representative told Kotaku this morning the ad is a fake. Kotaku also pointed out a suspect Compact Disc logo under the disc tray, a format which apparently the PS4 will not support.
What’s more, the cast in the PlayStation 4 “commercial” may be over the top zombie-like, with PlayStation controller X’s and O’s in their eyes starring blankly toward the camera, it’s hard to believe this came from Sony. The video is worth watching though, as one of the better fake PS4 ads we’ve seen.
Sony infamously introduced the PlayStation 4 in February. But with no unveiling of the console itself, the presentation left most somewhat disappointed with the event. We did learn though that Sony would push the social gaming features of the PS4, but as far as what it looks like we’ll all still have to wait until June 10 at E3.
