The Hulu Plus app is now available for Windows Phone 8, product manager Karan Nischol announced today on the Hulu Blog. The 4MB app, available in the Windows Phone Store, lets you stream unlimited TV shows and movies from the Hulu Plus library via Wi-Fi, 3G and 4G networks. Features include resume watch on multiple supported devices, a favorites queue, a daily feed of Trending Now clips, and curated editorial compilations. Popular television titles on Hulu Plus include Community, Lost, The Vampire Diaries, Battlestar Galactica and Arrested Development. A Hulu Plus subscription ($7.99 per month) is required for access.
Subscribers to Hulu Plus doubled in 2012, with the company reporting over 4 million customers in the first quarter of 2013. Hulu estimates mobile viewing will account for about 15% of video streaming in 2013-2014.
Hulu has also delved into creating exclusive content, with two original shows headed for the platform this summer: “Quick Draw” is a comedic western set in 1875, while “East Los High” centers on an inner city school in East Los Angeles.
