No Xbox Live Gold needed for Netflix this weekend

Boy Netflix is pushing House of Cards hard, huh? The one last piece of this weekend’s PR drive for the new homegrown series can be found on the console side of things. For the next couple of days, a Gold membership will not be needed to watch Netflix programming through the Xbox 360. Of course you will still need a Netflix subscription, but all regions will have access to video streaming this weekend. There is however a growing tide of resentment among Xbox owners about needing to pay to access your Netflix account; something you do not have to do with the PlayStation 3. Just look at some of the comments on Major Nelson’s blog.
