Google has revealed the $250 Samsung Chromebook, a lightweight laptop with full-sized keyboard, 2GB of RAM, 16GB hard drive, two USB ports, and 11.6″ display at 1366 x 768 resolution. The Chromebook boasts an ultra thin profile at 0.8 inches thick, and weighs just 2.5 pounds. The DisplayPort++ for HDMI output found on the Samsung Series 5 Chromebook has been removed, most likely to drop the price down. Google’s Sundar Pichai says, “We really want this to be for everyone in your family.” Google is offering those who purchase the Chromebook 100GB of free Google Drive storage for 2 years, letting owners store files in the cloud (which is how they get away with a 16GB hard drive). “It’s the best laptop that’s ever been designed at this price,” said Picha.
