DIRECTV has launched four new channels in HD to their lineup. At a time when new HD channels are rarely added, this comes as welcome news for subscribers. For kids, Disney Junior HD (Channel 289) is now available, featuring shows like “Doc McStuffins,” “Jake and the Never Land Pirates,” and “Mickey Mouse Clubhouse.” Nat Geo Wild (Ch. 283) is now available in HD, airing shows such as “Dog Whisperer,” “Ice Bear,” and “America the Wild.” BBC America (Ch. 264) is now in HD. The channel brings TV series such as “Doctor Who,” “Battlestar Galactica,” and “Kitchen Nightmares,” and the new show “Copper” about an Irish immigrant policeman who keeps the peace in a post-Civil War New York City. Lastly, DIRECTV has launched beIN SPORT HD (Ch. 620) — a 24 hour sports channel that broadcasts the best soccer matches in Europe and South America, such as Spain’s La Liga, Italy’s Serie A, and South American World Cup Qualifiers.
