Amazon’s LOVEFiLM now streaming in HD

Amazon’s overseas company LOVEFiLM is now streaming in high-definition (HD) in both the UK and Germany, the company announced this morning. The service is similar to Netflix and Amazon’s Instant Video, offering unlimited streaming of movies and TV shows on demand to supporting devices. Subscribers will need a minimum internet speed of 4mbps to get 720p resolution, while those with 12mbps or higher can get 1080p resolution at no extra charge. LOVEFiLM subscriptions start at GBP4.99 per month for unlimited instant streaming (no DVDs or Blu-rays included). The company’s GBP7.99 plan includes 1 disc out at a time, the package that made Netflix such a great deal here in the US.
