Netflix announced exclusive streaming of the upcoming series Hemlock Grove, based on the gothic novel of the same name by Brian McGreevy. Eli Roth (Grindhouse) is directing the series, described as an “exhilarating reinvention of the gothic mystery story.” The series stars Famke Janssen (X-Men) and upcoming Swedish actor Bill Skarsgard. Hemlock Grove will be available to Netflix subscribers in early 2013.
“‘Hemlock Grove’ is a sly blend of J.D. Salinger and Mary Shelley and will appeal to a broad base of fans captivated by these rich characters and stunning visuals,” said Ted Sarandos, Netflix Chief Content Officer.
