Two internet giants are offering digital viewing of Magnolia’s The Hunter before the film hits U.S. theaters on April 6. Amazon is renting the film for $9.99 for a 48-hour period, with options to stream or download to your PC. Google is offering the film for online viewing via both Google Play and YouTube, in standard-definition ($9.99) or HD ($10.99). In contrast with Amazon Instant Video, YouTube allows up to 30 days to start watching the movie. Google will also let you watch the movie on an Android phone or tablet via the Google Play Movies app. The Hunter (Rated R) stars Willem Dafoe as a mercenary sent to hunt the last Tasmanian tiger for its genetic material. The film was actually released last fall in Australia.
